History
In 1947 Raymond Andrews began working for Picker X-ray as one of the first combination sales and service engineers in the country. At that time, an individual was taught everything pertaining to x-ray including sales, service of equipment, darkroom maintenance, chemistry and film. Mr. Andrews opened his own company in 1958 known as RC Andrews Corp. In addition to sales and service, he introduced chemical hauling and recycling silver recovery. His methods are still being used in analog applications today.
In 1969 his son Greg joined him, and in 2004 his grandson Michael joined the company to develop digital imaging products and services. Today the company is known as Hudson Digital Systems to reflect the transition from analog to digital. Hudson, through its vast experience and superior technical capabilities, introduced many veterinary industry firsts such as the fanless CCD, fanless server, veterinary ceiling tube mount, power lift table, and smart touch console.
Hudson’s fanless systems are the only periodic maintenance free digital products specifically designed to address the harsh veterinary environment. Our fanless products insure long life, lower cost of ownership and less downtime. Hudson was the first to introduce low dose technology and outstanding image quality for CCD application as well as elimination of the grid for all of our digital systems, reducing dosage another 40%.

Hudson Digital Systems is pleased to announce the introduction of a revolutionary new design in Flat Panel Technology. This new 9 MP 17” x 17” requires no warm up time and creates no heat so it can be left on all day with no wear and tear. Since it is proven over time that many products that create heat fail we believe that this new product will provide outstanding service for years to come. HDS measured up to 5.0 line pair and a dosage requirement using approximately 2 mAs at low kv’s. We estimate the speed as approximately 800 asa with outstanding image quality. The Flat Panel is available in both Gaddox and Cesium. Pricing is under 40K.

Hudson Digital Systems is pleased to announce that we are going to a 5 year parts warrantee on our CCD systems. Based on seven years service our experience has been most positive in placing our DR systems in a one man to a ten man practice. Out of all the competitors on today’s market, HDS is the only company to develop its own software and build its own fanless computers. Unlike our competitors, HDS is totally fanless, requires no periodic cleanings due to hair and dust or yearly calibrations. In fact HDS does not void its warrantee due to lack of proper maintenance. The entire system is easily repaired on site.

HDS FP flat panel was just certified FDA / BRH for human use. While we mainly specialize in Veterinary products our background in x-ray imaging for human use goes back just as far. We still service Imaging Centers, Orthopedics, and Chiropractors. In fact we are still known as the go to company when everything else fails. HDS (formerly Andrews X-Ray) has been servicing the field longer then most x-ray manufactures have been in business.

Hudson Digital Information Systems a division of Hudson Digital Systems has just introduced View AT Home software, a client can now check in from the comfort of his home/office and review images recently done or from old files, you can also review anything on your office computers, billing, client information, inventory, everything. This has become another standard feature of HDS but can be retrofitted to existing clients systems.
Since 2003 when HDS was formed it was about hardware, image quality and low dosage. Going Digital today is about being able to connect to a teleradiologist, having full PACS, cost effective redundant back up off and on site, unlimited viewing software installed. HDS also believes a system should also not require periodic maintenance or yearly calibrations. A true Digital and Information Systems company offers 24 hour support / 7 days a week. Last but not least our entire CCD imaging system can be fully repaired on site. All flat panels and other CCD systems we are aware of require offsite repair. In the unlikely event our CCD requires repair, you will not incur weeks of downtime and the expensive of removing, crating, insurance and shipping the product back and forth. The manufacture also charges a fee of $1000 just to see what is wrong and provide an estimate! Our labor fee for repair is less then the cost of getting an estimate! Over the last 8 years HDS has introduced many firsts, many unique features that have never been duplicated or offered by other companies. We knew clients held animals for x-rays, so we made sure we offered the lowest dosage possible, we saw how fans drew in hair and dust, got clogged and failed so we built a fanless computer, easy to use software because we knew clients sometimes changed staff, sealed tables front, sides and back down to the floor because of small animals. All smooth surfaces in order to disinfect equipment. The list goes on, we know the industry and what is required.

Hudson Digital Systems announces the first Flat Panel Digital Radiography System for under $50,000. The panel is 9.4 MP, with a 17” x 17” field of view and is covered by a full two years parts warranty (expandable up to 5 years). Flat panels are the devices of choice by the majority of veterinary radiologists due to consistent image quality and dosage. HDS FP 9 is no exception. The system requires only 2.5 mAs at normal kVp making it about a 600 speed system. This is up to 20 times less radiation then some CCDs! When this panel is combined with our exclusive fanless server, users enjoy the freedom of zero periodic maintenance due to fans drawing in hair, dust and moisture, as well as avoiding long term fan degradation/failure often resulting in system failure caused by heat damage. The HDS FP 9 easily retrofits to nearly all existing x-ray installations or we can upgrade your existing x-ray system. The low dosage requirements make the panel not only safer to operate, but will extend the life of your existing x-ray system and reduce maintenance costs. Dealer inquires are welcome.
